CCTV for Security

Overview

CCTV for security means different things in different situations. This can include:

·         Intruder detection where you need alarms that indicate the perimeter has been breached

·         Facial recognition to allow/deny entry or identify offenders

·         Vehicle recognition

·         Number plate recognition

The level of detail and lighting conditions will determine the best camera for an area, while the choice of lens will determine the zoom and field of view that will be obtained. As an engineering company, we understand the importance of a properly engineered solution. We know that it isn't just a matter of buying good components, they must be compatible and able to work together to give the desired result, a cost effective, reliable solution.

For assistance in choosing the best camera for your situation, please contact us by email or phone.

Cameras

The camera is the eye of the CCTV system, if the camera cannot see clearly or in sufficient detail, the best ancillary equipment will not help.

GROUP CCTV constantly assesses cameras for day and low light performance to ensure we supply only the best cameras for a specific location.

The range of cameras we  currently use include:

·         Sanyo fixed cameras fitted with high quality Fujinon lenses

·         Sanyo auto-zoom cameras

·         Sanyo fixed dome cameras

·         Dennard and Pelco PTZ dome cameras

We are investigating several Internet Protocol (IP) cameras, and will include these as we feel the quality has reached a satisfactory level.

Night time images can be improved using day/night cameras with Infra-Red (IR) illuminators. The output from these illuminators is invisible to the human eye, but provides full illumination for the day/night cameras in night mode. The illuminator emits only a faint red glow to the naked eye.

Viewing and Control

Viewing and control of the cameras can be done locally or over the LAN using NetVu Observer software.

Local viewing can use up to two monitors per DVR, with each monitor capable of displaying a single camera image or split to show up to 16 cameras on a single screen.  Selection of cameras and control of PTZ cameras is by means by buttons on the front of the DVR, or if a DS2 is used, by a keyboard which is connected to the DVR.

GROUP CCTV can design and install a complete control room CCTV installation, and provide integration with access control systems.

NetVu Observer

Seamless Viewing with NetVu Observer
Dedicated Micros NetVu Observer video management software, allows users to seamlessly view distributed images from any “NetVu Connected” product, such as the New DS2 or DV-IP Server, from any moment in time, anywhere in the world.

Developed using DM’s innovative SDK (Software Development Kit), NetVu Observer offers flexible site management from a single server to a large multi site installation such as a town centre, hospital or campus environment. Its site tree facility allows servers and individual cameras to be accessed quickly, and the inclusion of the multi-site viewing facility makes the management of sites more efficient and responses to events even quicker.

Built-in MPEG-4 support provides simultaneous viewing of both JPEG and MPEG-4 video streams, allowing the user to optimise bandwidth usage on constrained networks. A straight forward drag and drop GUI, together with saved screen views provide the user with an easy to use viewing solution, offering a seamless single user interface to all NetVu Connected products.

NetVu Observer also includes a demonstration of the Map plug-in feature. The Map plug-in allows users to represent their camera locations diagrammatically. The full Map Editor software allows images such as office site maps to be used to represent the layout of a CCTV system. Once implemented these images can be used in place of the site-tree to quickly connect to any camera.

NetVu Observer can be downloaded free from our software page.
