CCTV Auditing and Documentation

Introduction

A CCTV system is only as good as its weakest link. If your system fails, it is no better than no system at all.

If a vital component fails, can you easily find the failed part?

Does your existing installation use your Ethernet network, and what load is it placing on that network ?

Do you know if the rest of your installation is up to scratch?

Will your new cameras be compatible with your existing installation?

For assistance in auditing and documenting your installation, please contact us by email or phone.

Audit

GROUP CCTV can carry out a complete audit of your existing installation, and identify:

  • cameras

  • housings

  • power supplies

  • illuminators

  • media converters

  • protocol converters

  • video recorders

  • camera control systems

  • video transmission paths

The audit will also identify problems such as damaged/ leaking housings, cameras suffering image problems and possible causes. Potential problems may also be highlighted such as poor terminations, moisture ingress.

If your network uses Ethernet (IP) for video transmission, we can conduct a network audit to determine the load on your network. We will then make recommendations as to any actions required.

We can implement VLANS, upgrade uplinks between switches, or restrict access to the video streams using access lists as just some of the methods to reduce network loading.
